Bad Breath: The Truth -- The Truth About Bad Breath and What the Symptoms Mean

Fitness Tip

Re-think Your Multivitamin
A quality brand of multivitamin could help your body better prevent sickness and gradual degenerative diseases that hasten aging and even infuse you with more energy. You are always getting some benefits by taking a multivitamin, but there are some additives that you do not need, like sugar, wax, or dyes. Look out for coloring such as "red no. 5" and sugar ingredients ending on "-ose" such as glucose. And, seek out formulas that include essential ingredients most commonly omitted: Chromium, selenium, and manganese. See also: Choosing a Multi Vitamin.

Nutrition Tip

Chocolate on a Diet!
Yes, you can find 25-calorie treats! The trick for dieters who get tripped up by feelings of deprivation is learning to indulge in favorites wisely rather than swearing them off entirely. If you love chocolate, a kiss has only 25 calories, compared to 270 in a chocolate bar. For many, such substitutions make them more likely to stick to a healthier eating plan. But everyone is different: If you find that "just a little" leads to a lot, stay away from temptation, at least for awhile.

Muscled out?
Inactive adults over age 30 lose about 3 to 5 percent of muscle tissue every 10 years; here's what you can do. Go to the weight room. Strength training prevents the reduction in muscle tissue that causes the body metabolism to slow and makes the bones more vulnerable to conditions like osteoporosis.

Food Facts

Spray your plastic storage dishes with nonstick cooking spray before pouring in tomato sauces and there won't be any stains.

A baked, unfrosted cake can be kept in the freezer up to three months wrapped in heavy-duty foil. Be sure to thaw it completely before frosting it.

It's best not to refreeze foods that have been frozen already and thawed, as this increases the risk of contamination by harmful bacteria.
