Fitness Tip

Patience Pays
If you don't get results right away from your workouts, don't quit -- buff takes time. When you start an exercise program, don't expect changes overnight. It may be a couple of weeks before you can actually see improvements. Although changes may seem subtle at first, stick with it. Even small amounts of exercise will start you on the road to a better body.

Nutrition Tip

Vinegar Curbs Appetite
If you include vinegar in your meals, even mixed into a glass of water or stirred into a salad dressing you may lessen damage from high carbohydrates while curbing your appetite and possibly fending off weight gain. According to a Swedish study, consuming two or three tablespoons of vinegar with white bread can cut expected rises in insulin and blood sugar by about 25 percent. Surprisingly, participants also felt fuller. This study confirms previous research done by Jennie Brand-Miller of the University Of Sydney, Australia, finding that consuming 4 teaspoons of vinegar in a salad dressing with a meal lowered blood sugar by as much as 30 percent. FYI: Vinegar drinks are now popular in Japan. See also: Over Sixty Ways to Use Vinegar
