Raking leaves, shoveling snow, cutting grass. This is exercise! All activity helps us keep fit. Take heavy yard work, for example -- treat it just as you would a more formal workout. Make sure your body is warmed up and pace yourself accordingly. Pay careful attention to they way you lift, stay hydrated and schedule breaks during the day.

Salad Dressings
Salad dressings are one of the biggest sources of dietary fat. While many fat-free dressings are available, some people don't care for their flavor. If you really prefer a high-fat dressing, make up for it by eating lower fat later and keep watching the sodium content. If you choose vinegar and oil for a dressing, which oil is best? Romaine and Tomato Salad with Chicken
Dress a packaged Caesar salad with low fat Caesar dressing, chopped tomatoes and thinly sliced red onions. Top with packaged cooked, sliced chicken breast and prepared fat free croutons. Serve with canned soup, if desired.

Cookies and Cakes
After a dose of refined sugar and white flour, a lot of people just go into a daze. Processed baked goods also contain trans-fatty acids, the worst fats of all. Watch for "no trans fats" on labels now. Food manufacturers are removing this hazardous ingredient from cookies and cakes.

For extra creamy mashed potatoes, stir 4 ounces fat free softened cream cheese into one pound mashed potatoes.
